Elders from the Yaqui Yoeme Tribe

Sewa Valencia
Sewa Valencia is a Yaqui Yoeme woman walking the path of remembrance—making her way back home to the heart. She carries the prayers and the stories of her ancestors through the living heartbeat of the drum, tending what has always been sacred.
For over two and a half decades, she has sat in circle, holding prayer, weaving song, story, and rhythm as medicine for the people.
Each drumbeat is an offering. Each story is a return. Each gathering is a fire lit for those who feel the call.
She comes not to perform, but to awaken what lives beneath the forgetting—to restore the thread between the ancestors and the now. This is a living prayer. Come listen. Come drum. Let us catch fire.
